Position: Pharmacist In Charge

Pharmacist In Charge is needed to perform the following duties:

  • Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, ascertain the needed ingredients, and evaluate their suitability.
  • Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, review or evaluate the effectiveness of drugs or drug regimes, providing advice on drug applications or characteristics.
  • Order and purchase pharmaceutical, medical, or drugs, maintaining stock and storing and handling it properly.
  • Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and excessive usage or harmful interactions.
  • Advise customers on selecting medication brands, medical equipment, or healthcare supplies.
  • Service and satisfy the patient's health care needs in and out of the Pharmacy area.
  • Openly communicate with customers/ patients while protecting their confidential health and drug information; counsel customers with medical questions.
  • Solicit information on a customer's medical history to give people appropriate medical advice.
  • Maintain inventory levels by following defined ordering practices
  • Maintain a perpetual schedule II inventory.
  • Obtain needed information for new prescriptions and refills via telephone
  • Fill prescriptions (product selection; counting and measuring drugs; capping and uncapping vials and bottles; labeling of prescriptions)
  • Check- In, price and put away all drug orders – including CIIs
  • Retrieve and file prescriptions in the appropriate files – including CIIs
  • Pull outdated, damaged and recalled merchandise and prepare for return
  • Complete third party rejections ; Maintain daily and weekly reports
  • In case of dispensing accidents, follow company procedures: notification, report completion
  • Communicate and interact with physicians, dentists, nurses and others in health-related fields to better serve the patient; Ensure compliance with all company procedures and federal and state laws, rules and regulations.

A bachelor's degree is required in pharmacy, pharmaceutical science, or pharmaceutics.
